If you’re craving a cozy, wholesome dessert that feels indulgent but is actually good for you, these Healthy Baked Apples are just the thing. Warm, naturally sweet, and spiced with cinnamon, they’re the perfect treat for fall (or anytime you want comfort in a bowl). Filled with raisins, nuts, or even granola, they strike the balance between nourishing and satisfying—delicious on their own or topped with a dollop of creamy Greek yogurt.
Ingredients (serves 4):
- 4 medium apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Gala work well)

- ¼ cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- ¼ cup raisins or dried cranberries
- 2–3 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional, apples are naturally sweet)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp nutmeg (optional)
- ½ cup hot water
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Wash and core apples, leaving the bottom intact to create a little “cup.”
- In a small bowl, mix nuts, raisins, cinnamon, nutmeg, and honey/maple syrup.
- Spoon filling into the center of each apple.
- Place apples in a baking dish. Pour hot water into the dish (about ½ inch).
- Cover loosely with foil and bake 30–40 minutes, until apples are tender but not mushy.
- Serve warm as is, or with a dollop of Greek yogurt for extra creaminess.
👉 You can also swap in granola for the nut/raisin mix if you want more crunch.
