Few tips for women to lead a healthier life:

  1. Adopt a balanced, wholesome meal comprising all the food groups – cereals, pulses, dairy, fruits, vegetables and healthy fats.
  2. Calcium-rich foods and vitamin D needs to be included in the daily diet to ensure healthy bones. Skimmed/toned milk, curd and paneer, cheese, fish, green leafy vegetables, sesame seeds, millet, amaranth are rich in calcium. *Cow’s dairy not tolerated for some.
  3. Iron deficiency is more common among women and can lead to anaemia and fatigue.
  4. Absorption of iron can be enhanced by consuming vitamin C rich foods (e.g. lemon, guava, citrus fruits).
  5. Switch to cold pressed virgin coconut oil that contains medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) that help in easy digestion and aids boost the immunity system.
  6. Include good protein quality foods like egg, fish, chicken, pulses & legumes, nuts, milk and milk products (caution on cow’s dairy for some) and soya granules in your diet.
