The biggest weight loss myths is today’s topic.
How much body fat you have, your age, your bra size, your waist or any other number does not define you.
With the pills, powders, programs and procedures going around to “help” you this season, I want to cut through the myths, and sort fact from fiction once and for all!
Too many think keto or plant-based or gluten-free or intermittent fasting is THE right diet and I know it sounds cliché, but everyone is different. Everyone behaves differently around food, everyone has a different relationship meaning there’s a different strategy that works best to lose weight and keep it off. You just need to learn what works for you.
It’s Not Easy
Effortless ways to lose weight where you eat yourself slim are lying to you. Biology makes weight loss hard so don’t feel bad if it’s tough, it’s not supposed to be easy.
Eat Everything In Moderation
Boring as it sounds moderation is the answer. Too much of anything is bad (meat, fat, sugar even chocolate) and too little of anything is just as bad.
Calories Are Deceiving
Counting without considering caloric availability is dangerous (calories actually extracted during digestion not just the number in food). Remember, nutrition is a science, it’s not as simple as calories in calories out!
Knowledge Is Power
Instead of wishing for overnight success consider an evidence-based nutritional education. If you don’t know how you’ve got somewhere, how can you expect to stay there?
Stay Positive
I’m all for taking control of your diet but please do it positively and not out of fear and understand that there is no one “right” diet for everyone.
